The withdrawal of troops next year will occur if the estimates of the
Pentagon and the Joint Chiefs holds true. We cannot sustain our
military presence at the present levels, according to their estimates.
We are running our of the necessary resources. Basically, the military
is on the verge of being "broken."

It's a matter of Bush not wanting to admit he made the most costly mistake in the history of the United States. I honestly believe there is a serious personality disorder going on here. He does not seem to learn from his mistakes or the mistakes of others. He will not reduce troop levels unless he can find or make up an excuse that he thinks makes him look competent. My common sense tells me many of the people around him have tried to change his mind, but there are only a few people he listens to, the VP and the "yes" people who work for him. Tom |
